Pepin Distributing gets Top National Corporate Award from Keep America Beautiful

Team Pepin receiving the Award

Tampa, Florida, January 28th, 2015 – Pepin Distributing Company has always been humbled to be acknowledged for its commitment to the Tampa Bay community. Recently, that list of acknowledgements grew a little longer thanks to the recognition Pepin Distributing received for the extra care it shows for the environment. Keep America Beautiful honored Pepin Distributing with the top national corporate award in the “Great American Clean-up and Waste Reduction-Recycling” category for its efforts at the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates, recruiting volunteers and working with the City of Tampa to divert over 20,000 pounds of waste and 8000 pounds of recycled materials from making its way into the Tampa Bay waters. Additionally, the Tampa Bay branch of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, honored Pepin Distributing with the top local corporate award, “Champion of the Forest”. According to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, the award is given to those who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the mission of the environmental organization.

“One of our favorite messages was Pepin Distributing’s signature Gasparilla float made from recycled Budweiser cans with the theme, “Pulling Together to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.” From providing recycling bags and t-shirts for our volunteers, to printing banners and signage, Pepin has always been willing to lend a hand. Another highlight was the Bud Light, “Do Good. Have Fun.” project this past July, where Pepin volunteers enhanced several areas along the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail including creating a new sand dune and adding bicycle repair stations”, said Emily Schwartz, Development Coordinator at Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.

Bill Gieseking, Director of Marketing at Pepin Distributing Company, stated, “We are very proud to have been recognized by an outstanding organization that cares so much about our environment. The Pepin family deeply cares about the Tampa Bay community, and being an environmentally conscious company is part of our commitment to our beautiful city.”
