The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners presented a Commendation to Pepin Distributing Company for Hurricane Irma relief efforts

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners presents proclamations and commendations to recognize important dates and causes, and to celebrate the significant contributions of businesses, groups, and individuals to the people of Hillsborough County. Below is the commendation that Pepin Distributing Company and Skipper’s Smokehouse were honored to receive;

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Pepin Distributing Company for delivering life-saving supplies to the victims of Hurricane Irma in the Florida Keys.

A Tampa-based beverage distributor, Pepin Distributing has a long history of helping neighbors in need, and that legacy stretches far beyond Hillsborough County. Concerned about fellow Floridians after Irma struck the Keys on Sept. 10, devastating homes, businesses, and infrastructure, Pepin CEO Tom Pepin acted quickly. He made available employees Dustin May and Robby Sanz, a truck, and a 48-foot-long trailer to transport badly needed supplies to the Keys. The aid was generously provided by Tampa Bay area residents as a result of a donation drive organized by Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa. Mr. Pepin’s company also assisted with Irma relief efforts in the Tampa Bay area by allocating nearly 20,000 cans of water from Anheuser Busch to Hillsborough County Aging Services, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Tampa.

The Board of County Commissioners of Hillsborough County, Florida does hereby commend Pepin Distributing Company for coming to the aid of residents impacted by Hurricane Irma, and thanks the business for its warm generosity.
